JERI L. WRIGHT, advocate for social justice, author, conference convener, daughter, mother, sister, and widow, is committed to achieving wellness and wholeness through the intersection of faith and the development of creative programming as powerful tools for healing and transformation. Jeri enters her work in a very personal way as founder of The Butterfly Effect, ministering to the souls of justice-impacted women, their children, and families. Jeri further engages and seeks to train faith leaders and the Black Church in transforming “prison ministries” to do the restorative work of soul care with justice-impacted individuals and families, significantly impacting their lives and reducing the rate of recidivism.
This work undergirds the doctoral candidate’s project,
“We Don’t Need Another Sermon: Transforming Black Faith Prison Ministry to Pan African Theocentric Restorative Human-Centered Justice Ministry.”
